Grandma went to hairstylist that day to have a hairdo.
it took about 2 hours, so mom and dad and i went to student mart at Upper Serangoon shopping centre to look for my jc uniform. was not sold there.
so i'll have to wait till next week to order uniform.
but mom wants to order it early because she is busy on weekdays.
i kind of like travelling on the Circle Line. i guess i have adapted to riding on MRTs. its so much less congested and there's that nice smell, im unable to describe it, but its somewhat fresh smelling.
i spend my free time searching music on the web currently. i think i have gotten sick of online games during the holidays. Jpop, Kpop...etc. i've subscribed to avex and Sment channel.
trying to collect them into my phone and create a big playlist. youtube has some of the best.... and weirdest videos. lmao~
i haven't asked my new friends if they have facbook accounts, would like to add them:)
Val seems to have made many many new friends in his Jc, he adds at least 1 new friend a day.
wish that my OG has more wacky or interesting people too XD like Val.
3rd day of orientation will be tomorrow. i'll be wearing some school-based clothes. i dunno, maybe tt club black shirt and PE shorts, i don't feel like wearing HIHS school uniform, its too stuffy. too bad 4Hum09 did not have a t-shirt but a pullover. but i like the pullover too.
OGL Kelmond messaged me that we're gonna imprint our thumbprint into the scanner tomorrow. so cool right? when you reach school, just scan thumbprint, no need to take attendance by headcount.
...
im still bored.
ok, about today:
cleaned wall and ceiling above altar table today. it was hard work getting the dirt off, because the wall and ceiling was stained by incense smoke over the years. the bucket of water i used even turned milky after i soaked the towel. and the dirty towel kept swinging into my face while i cleaned the wall, yeurgh...
then i took a shower after that.
when lessons in Jc start, im going to use my new specs because the current one is failing me, or im failing my specs, my eyesight is becoming worse.
i wonder if i will wear specs as thick as SH's when i finish Jc...haha

2nd day of NYJC orientation:
reported at hall at 7.50pm
met friends and sat down.
morning was spent in hall. MCs came up with lots of lame jokes again :) so lame that its funny.
there was even an M&M chocolate catching competition and limbo competition up on stage.
departed for Sentosa at 10+
made new friend today, name's wryan.
he likes to read lots of articles, especially those from Newsweek, and very so often, he will take a copy out of his bag to read.
hmm.. he's chosen 4 h2 subjects, i wonder if he can cope.
today, the unenthu problem persists in the group but not to such a big extent.
it only happened in the morning. an OGL tried to teach a cheer and i ended up cheering, wryan was reading... O.o ok....
our cheering was not loud enough, with 72% girls in the group, and were not gutsy enough, we have to try even better. ROAR...
moods were lifted upon reaching Sentosa. we had to take a really long trek along the beach road because we could not take the tram.
AND IT WAS MIDDAY. omg, the sun. i'll tell you later.
let's continue, so we came on the island to participate in various station games located along the beaches of palawan and siloso.
but first, we had lunch. and that's where Masai took snapshots of me, but his reaction was slow, so he only took shots of me turning away from the camera. mwahaha~
lunch was pizza, i took 2 slices, same as everybody else. but i spammed chilli flakes on mine.
and no, they were still not spicy enough XD
1st station game. finding buried items in sand and using them to create a sandcastle, at the same time, unleashing your creativity. we had to be innovative here.
we strategised and found plenty if items in the sand, which were mainly plastic cups.
built a mound with a smiley face and decorated it with discarded panadol pills, shoe laces and wild grass lol.
and it was awarded the title of the most creative sandcastle? or something like that.
2nd station game: treasure hunt
we had to find items on a list. eg; 10 water bottles, 3 watches, 3 pairs of specs, 3 items from nature...etc
bonus items to find or bonus for stuff done: sing school song(all of us haven't even heard it once, a 2nd year student had to sing it), do the mass dance( recapped and everyone did the first part).
3rd station: another treasure hunt, find pencils, pingpong balls and 2 marked pebbles in an area.
4th station: a cup is strung over 2 wrists of 2ppl, fill cup and bring it to an empty pail, fill pail.
sounds simple but requires alot of teamwork and coordination to fill pail within time limit.
5th station: cats in a corner.( a group, eg; Nova5 stands in 4 corners. all members carry a plastic bag of water. another group eg; Yancey6, stands in the middle of 4 corners. once game master shouts CATS IN A CORNER! Nova5 members all have to rush to another corner, and Yancey6 members have to attempt to burst the plastic bags.
then reverse the groups and see which group has the most water filled bags left. which will win. and it resulted in a draw for us XD
lots of ganging in the game, 5 catchers were after one poor guy, then 10 more cornered him. lol
a girl was hugged by 4 other girls and had her plastic bag snatched. and 2 guys from the same team knocked into each other and burst each others bags.
quite rough too, sand was everywhere, even my pants and inside my socks. everyone was getting sand out of their shoes after this activity.
ok, after that was debrief and we went home ourselves.
pictures? of course, also uploaded on facebook. do comment :D
LUNCH ! perfect weather payback time. the ppl wearing blue were doing a cheer. NOVA5! bring the house down! NOVA5 Group pic, including OGLs look at the difference in skin tone. red and white!

today maybe the last day i'll ever where the HIHS school uniform ever again.
because, today's the NYJC orientation.
And NYJC will be my 2nd home for the next 2 years :D
1st day of orientation
morning:
took circle line to Lorong Chuan. saw throngs of students, many from other schools going to my destination.
surprise! first familiar face after i walked through the gates was HuiHui's.
could see Melvin Tan..... nowhere.
then Yanyin and some others from HIHS also came along, but i was the only guy.
went hall before 7.15 to join my group. no HIHS ppl in mine, but still happy to meet some new friends.
lol, the camp MCs were like super weird, they intro themselves and started super lame jokes.
eg:
why did Sam throw the butter out of the window?
because she wanted to see the butterfly.
and don't remind me of the char siew bao joke...
first cheer i learnt:
N (clap*), Y (clap*), JC (clap*)x2 (and repeat)
paid $33 for goodie bag which included a really cool looking shoe bag, an NYJC towel, orientation camp t-shirt, NOVA tribe t-shirt(thats the name of my orientation group), school badge to pin on shirt, school orientation badge to pin on bag, and for some reason, a $5 popular voucher.
the morning talk on subjects and subject combination was important but uber boring, with no SH to wake me up, i tried my best to stay awake. and i did, hurray.
ice breaking was next, played trees and squirrels, which was fun and met my first new friend whose name is Qi En, correct me if im wrong.
did cheering later, but our group was a little shy and not too enthu. going through orientation makes one feel like a kid.
tour of the school was next. and it really was just a walk around the school.
afternoon:
after lunch, if you really want to know what i had... which was chicken rice. (i can't believe most of the food is $2 and below with the exception of western set meals). canteen vendors were very helpful and friendly. i still miss HIHS chicken rice and western meal.
changed into HIHS PE attire and went to hall. our group; NOVA5 btw, was dispatched to station games with several others.
first was Jacob's ladder. quite fun but i accidentally kicked my senior who is my OGL ( orientation group leader?) in the face, wargh.... but he says its ok and laughs. i said sorry, so pai seh...
then we did try a couple of cheers, tried my best to be super enthu. voice became a bit hoarse after that.
and the bad thing was, we did not know and couldn't remember the lyrics, so we ended up with only a couple of cheers we could break out into.
2nd friend i made was chao win, correct me if im wrong again.
who was from my primary school, class R10..woohoo. i was in R9 btw.
went to another station game where we had to tap cards with alphabets or numbers in the correct order in the fastest time.
went back hall for mass dance after that. lots of groups also gathered there. we were all taught the dance. and most of us became so confused in the beginning, not knowing the right moves. we were also paired with the opposite gender, and that's when i found out that 40% of my group was boys. again, poses a great challenge because its quite hard to make friends with the opposite gender with limited topics to start a conversation.
and in the end,we learnt only the initial part. but it was quite good on the first try.
then came the debriefing, guy sitting beside me intro himself as David. said Hi! see how easy it is for guys to bond?
debrief was about tmr's trip.
released from school after 4.30pm and i took the train home.
just found out my OGL's name, he's Kelmond! and his white specs looked strangely similar to Kayyin's.
and for the entire day,i didn't even catch a glimpse of Melvin...hmmph... where did he disappear to? i was supposed to deliver a pack of tissues to him.
edit:
decided to add this after reading SH's blog post.
ARE THEY BONKERS!? $140 for a calculator?!
submitted subject comb. just now, and i did listen attentively to the teachers in the morning. ok.
most likely:
H2 maths
H2 bio
H2 chem
H1 economics
+ PW, GP and MT
2nd choice:
H2 maths
H2 physics (yes, i can't believe what i was thinking)
H3 chem
H1 geography
+ PW, GP and MT.
and Mr Nathan is HOD of arts, should meet him someday and tell him that i was his wife's student. Mrs Nathan is a wonderful teacher. yes.

and thus YA was posted to NYJC science.
along with Melvin Tan and Hui Hui and other ppl ^^
at least there's ppl from HIHS coming along.
and i have to wear my still oversized uniform tmr and report at 7.30am.
dunno how Masai was posted to his last choice, which was Tampines jc... poor guy. i encouraged him to appeal just now.
ok, i wasn't blogging for the past few days because i had rashes along my neck which was uncomfortable and mum said that i had to sleep early so that i could recover faster.
darn... if the rash won't go away, i won't be able to enjoy my favourite foods..
oh, and yesterday, i had fun decorating the school for CNY! we mainly helped in decorating the school library, hall and parade square.
somehow the streamers hanging on the railing at the parade square looked like a cross between christmas streamers and feather boas.
we have also suspended a lantern and red cloth in the middle of the space above the parade square. which looked kind of beautiful, but may have looked better if more cloth and lanterns were hung onto it.
SH so nice, buy drinks for me! remind me to treat you to drinks next time :)
was being incredibly clumsy and dumb around you yesterday, i don't know why.
discussed with Noel to plan kite flying someday. and yeah, maybe someday, we'll all go kite flying together. the previous one was so much fun.
YJ is missing out on so much. Miss Chee has like finished almost 2 chapters...hehe
maybe at the NYJC orientation tmr, i can buy their school uniform? :D
that reminds me, i have tuition tmr... oh...shucks

and i had jc1 maths tuition starting today....
groooannn....
and because the class started 5 lessons already(i joined during the 6th lesson), i don't even get what Ms Chee is talking about the first 1/2 hour, but Ms Chee says nevermind and that she will come back to the topic next time.
today, i learnt Conics, yes, Conics...exactly as spelled.
be afraid, be very afraaaid.
nah... just kidding. its kind of interesting to learn new stuff, but my brain's kinda turned to pitbog mush after slacking for so long. lol muddleheaded.
the ppl attending class was neither alot nor less. like about 20 ppl?
want to know what's Conics yet?... unknown terms can be spammed and used to frighten ppl. Conics is quite simple actually, but you'll have to ask me personally or i won't tell. if u ask, then you're knowledge thirsty, which is good C: anyway, you'll learn it sooner or later.
Maths is interesting... omg i sounded like FY just now, i heard her say that phrase once during Mrs Nathan's lesson. ergh..
and guess what, after my first tuition lesson for year 2010, i also Marie was attending the same lesson. looks like she's a big fan of Mavis academic tutorial centre ( she's been attending alot of the lessons). i didn't even notice until she said Hi to me after lesson.
lol, nothing much happened today, gonna help boss with hamper moving tmr.

Hurray for the 300th post... mwahahahaha
see? this blog is like 3-4 years old and i had this ever since Sec 1 to chronicle the ups and downs, the bitterness, sweetness, sour moments and the plain weird moments of a growing child that is me :)
its been a walk, but by no means a long and easy one, i still have many years ahead of me and this is just the first few chapters! Chapter 4 i think, one year = 1 chapter of a life, afterall, a new year is a new beginning.
and for the first time during my job, i felt totally at home and unrestricted. really. i could just freely joke and laugh with people there, complain or chat.
the JAE posting results will be out in 7 days time. aw... i can only work for 1 week more... and school is starting in about a week's time, and i'll have to attend Miss Chee's tuition lessons again, hope to see old HIHS students in tuition class.
but my life is probably going to get busier and more lively.
ok, enough of that, no point talking about that because im talking about something special on the 300th post. (had to emphasize that...hehe)
YA's (that's me) criteria for going out on any occasion
1) i'll agree to go out to the event (decision 1)
2) i will not go (decision 2)
3) parental consent , if they say no, refer to 2).... no choice. if they agree, refer to 1)
4) cost, if too ex and wastes time, then 2), vice versa for the opposite
5) type of event ( 1 or 2 depends, sometimes include 3 or 4)
6) importance of event. critical factor. if its too unimportant, then 2)
7) number of participants ( the more the merrier but may not always be that way )
8) duration, an event beyond twillight hours may result in a 2) and often a 3) but there are rare occurences that it will be a 1)
9) type of people, usually depends on 5) though..
10) tie breaker between two events happening at a similar time slot. depends on 3), 4), 5), 6), 7) 8) and 9) lol... or i may just use 2) for both.
11) uniqueness... okay... if its a special event or once in a blue moon kind of thing, why not? will choose 1)
12) mood, if im not in the mood, then 2). unless im persuaded to go thrice.
i can't think of anything else... ok, i summed it up. good :D
may not be accurate but at least i came up with this on my 300TH POST.

was reading up on Chuck Norris's biography on wikipedia. awesome stuff, now i know why he's so famous.
particularly interested in his history of martial arts and his code of honour and rules:
Chun Kuk Do
(copy and pasted from wiki...hehe)
Norris created the martial art Chun Kuk Do, which is based primarily on Tang Soo Do and includes elements from every combat style he knows. Like many other martial arts, Chun Kuk Do includes a code of honor and rules to live by. These rules are from Chuck Norris's personal code. They are:
I will develop myself to the maximum of my potential in all ways.
I will forget the mistakes of the past and press on to greater achievements.
I will continually work at developing love, happiness and loyalty in my family.
I will look for the good in all people and make them feel worthwhile.
If I have nothing good to say about a person, I will say nothing.
I will always be as enthusiastic about the success of others as I am about my own.
I will maintain an attitude of open-mindedness.
I will maintain respect for those in authority and demonstrate this respect at all times.
I will always remain loyal to my God(s), my country, family and my friends.
I will remain highly goal-oriented throughout my life because that positive attitude helps my family, my country and myself.
and i shall follow it too, it seems reasonable and its for self-improvement.
today:
i got an injection at the clinic to counter the effects of the medication allergy.
mum and dad kept scaring me with the story of how Aunt Julia's husband died of liver imflammation and kidney failure after discovering his drug allergy too late...
and i really got scared, because i felt a sharp pain in my abdomen last night, but its okay now, the rashes have subsided since and im no longer scratching myself.
and yes, i went to work... haha... workaholics!
as usual, everyone thought i was blur. but that was a side effect of another drug injected into me. it made me drowsy and i had to ask the same question twice or something like that, or sometimes it took quite a while for me to answer a question, or i've got that droopy eyes.
ah jack even back massaged me because he thought i was tired, and i kept dropping boxes and stuff but nothing broke. still manage to pack close to my record but failed short by 1 :)
new packers pack real fast, but quality is not as good as Yx and I ^^
but of course, we have like almost 2 months of experience:)
but i think i replaced a hamper with a fruit gummy item with a peanut item, whoops, but its at the back, and i can't tell which one because they were all taken away... hopefully its just a small mistake...oops fingers crossed X
Yx didn't come for work today, probably something to do with his DPA? wants to make sure i tell boss, because he thought i forgot the last time. was taken aback and i did not like the tone of the message and sry, i did not forget.
and to make sure i even told sashi, ah may, and boss.
now mum nags me to take new medication...
YA feels better now, no headache, mum still makes me drink liang cha,
liang cha tastes good, especially with brown sugar :D , tastes sweet and aromatic with a herbal aftertaste.
just don't try it with mushroom soup or pepsi, like Zw did with the mushroom+pepsi in a spoonful combo. do not try this at home, kids, sure kenna nagging from Mothers.
woohoo!
chuck norris!
lol. his alleged facts are so outrageous XD

groan...
guess what, i've got a nasty case of drug allergy. so i've got rashes up my arm and back.
at first, i thought it was just a simple harmless side effect. who knew that it was actually an allergy, then it got itchy.
and i've got a headache right now.
yesterday:
Went to Cliff's house after i went shopping with parents for a pair of new specs!
quite a few ppl from our class was there and also some from 4 unity + brandon yeo
i noticed my ears turning red at about 2+pm, ignored that.
played wii like a nut, liked the raving rabids game most.as usual, there was a feast. did i mention Val was there too?.. lol
my favourite was the shrimprolls and the chicken wings ^^
too bad i had to leave early. Val gave me a hard shaking as i was about to leave...
ran home like crazy all the way to get back home by 4 o'clock. i may have contracted a heatstroke along the way. i was utterly exhausted when i got home and really short of breath.
slept for a while but i've gotten a headache when i awoke.
recounted that i've taken the drug for several weeks, and there was mild itchiness.
and im still stupid enough to take 2 pills this morning....
anyway, that night, visited godpa and family whom just came back from bangkok. i think he enjoyed the trip really much because he talked about it practically all evening.
godpa said that he was happy for me, and hopefully next year he can visit Singapore again and stay longer.(he always visits at least once a year)
he also lent me a book, titled: The Gangland War. and im currently still reading through the second chapter. interesting read. did you know that there is no capital punishment in Australia?
returned home late and slept at 12.30am. was feeling really tired then.
this morning:
woke up, felt giddy, really giddy.
helped prepare breakfast. after breakfast,i played a computer games, then feeling unwell, i slept till ,lunch time.
then, i took lunch and continued to sleep till 5pm.
mum found out that i had rashes during dinner, advises me to stop the medication.
up till then, i still thought that it was the heat stroke!
and i feel unwell right now, so...

must i still work tomorrow?...aww....
alrdy submitted JAE last week, most probably going NYJC, i hear that lots of ppl from HIHS also going there :)

it was so nostalgic, walking along the side road and watching students flooding out of the school gates...
a sad feeling flooded me, i sighed.
times gone and past.
never to be relived again, i could never turn back the clock. or stop it.
i wanted to cry, but i could not. the feeling of losing something forever is like plunging into an abyss.
sigh...
and for that moment, i wanted to be a student of HIHS again.
but thats impossible... i can't graduate then go back a step and become a student once more.
and as i sit in my room illuminated only by the laptop's blinding screen, i thought of only one thing:
time waits for no man, time lost can never be regained. time is ever flowing, man is just a stationary object in an ever flowing stream of time. and time can never flow upstream.
time however, can only be kept still in the mind, in memories, snapshots of the past, our days in HIHS.

currently im just idling my time away until i leave for work.
and im feeling quite sleepy, because i stayed up late till 4am in the morning to download songs
yawn~
but i just had breakfast, so it'll be fine.
breakfast was 2 slices of store bought bread with a thick layer of chunky organic blueberry jam..mmm
my apple juice's run out... so there's no apple juice for me this morning.
just to while time away, i also reorganised my phone's playlist. added more tracks i downloaded, which was mostly of Nico Touches The Walls band.
maybe and going to stop working next week, because mom said that i had to rest abit prior to going back to studies and to prepare for it.
maybe i'll tell the boss on friday.
the week passes fast if you're working every day. i can't believe that almost 2+months have gone by in a flash. i don't remember what i've done during days where there wasn't an outing with buddies.
maybe doing what im doing right now? idling time away...

just came back from watching movie with buddies. in case you're wondering, the movie was Sherlock Holmes, it was fun to watch and i like the plot because there's suspense and wit. just as i thought, Sherlock has a great sense of humour and detective skills.
i was expecting parents to berate me for returning late. instead they were just worried, mom even cooked noodles for me as my dinner was just a miserable KFC burger :DD
it was so touching, they said they were satisfied with my results. i guess it was my own dissatisfaction that caused me this misery. and i thought they always expected the highest from me.
sometimes, its alright for a bird to lay down and take a rest too.
most likely going JC instead of poly because my parents are giving me the go ahead for it.
alrighty
enough of singapore's education system
let's talk about the band im so crazy about now:
i really like their songs, and this song is so touching...
i want to be your tomato!

and i thought my life will be over if i don't score good.
well, wrong, because im happy with my score and it was better than the prelims.
haha, eat THAT sadist Mr Chang, an A2 for physics!

but i can't take my mind off an issue, which is my O'lvl results. its going to be released this afternoon. the anxious feeling is there once more. like on the first day of the O'lvl exams.
just hope that the results will meet my expectations. but most importantly, hopefully it will meet my parent's expectations...

i wonder what activities await. i hope i won't be the one cooking the food properly again.
i remembered that i had to cook the chicken the last time i went there.
seriously, cooking is an interesting hobby.
note to self, remind zw or noel to return the book that i left at Claudia's house.
currently im just really interested in a japanese band called '' Nico touches the walls''
i like their songs, and i spent the whole afternoon trying to search for their song's lyrics translated into english.
oh, and workers have already built a scaffold outside my window, i can't view the sunset properly T.T. it totally spoils the view.
see?
when my eyes are tired, i just look out into the sunset...so calming

hard day's work.
a thing or 2 you'll learn as a hamper packer:
1) time is of utmost importance
2) time = money
3) money is hard earnt
4) canteen food isn't really good for your health
5) packing is tough, tough, tough. but im a toughie, its okay for me :)
6) it trains the legs, arms and hips.
7) be able to stand for at least 4 hours without rest.
8) trains you to eat fast. (to save time)
9) gold 90 fm has dedicated this whole month to elvis. woot! elvis songs whole day, i don't mind, though its a little old.
10) im a toughie through and through.
11) not even cockroaches put me off, but they're nasty looking anyways.
12) workplace is wacky
13) the new storehand sings out loud when there's a song on the radio
14) we pack like mad
15) never let the boss see how you pack. this is the single most essential way of surviving nagging in such a place.
ok, that was 15 points, not one or two. but i've got more.....
i can't say that i don't have people i like, but like as in the best friends good friend buddy pal kind of way and not the bgr romantic lovey dovey type.
anyways, i'll have to be very much responsible. im 16, 5 years more to adulthood.
and too much responsibilities are one thing. then there's temptation...bad bad things of all sorts.
( my inner mind is protecting me) : YA, there's lots of things in this world, good n bad, don't get in trouble k? but do make lots of buddies, they can help you in need, especially money matters. (kidding)
YA: ok, i'll be good :D:D
im thinking long term here... long term...
ok, and such romantic etc... stuff only happens in dreams, well.... sometimes in mine, but rare.... i repeat, rare.
