hey! yo... HAPPY NEW YEAR! good bye 09 and hello 2010!
will upload pics of new year's day celebration at beach, but first...
dec 31st started with a half day job, and beginning to get the hang of the job, reaching my target soon.
work will then begin next tuesday where i will receive my paycheck :DD
cut my fingers accidentally while trimming hampers today, i even tore open a wound i got the day before.
put a plaster on it, and went off to grandma house at about 4 to eat alittle lunch.
met zw at GIANT in vivocity at 6+ pm. i only knew that they were celebrating new year's day after i received a message from zw after work.
went shopping for tidbits and snacks.
met the rest of the group in GIANT too. they were: michelle, rachel, andrew chee, JL, nicholas, chicky, amanda lim. joseph tay and another joseph also came later. michelle has a packet of sweets she bought in bangkok. wth, the sweets were spicy. at first it looked ordinary, maybe it even looked a little fruity flavoured. i was wondering why there was a BOOM word on the wrapper. then the spiciness kicked in and they laughed at the look i had on my face when i found out the sweet was hot hot HOT!
then went tobuy food to eat, especially sushi. michelle bought $9 worth of sushi, omgosh. me and zw also bought sushi although not as much.
then michelle and rachel went and buy ice cream at a newly opened ice cream store called the Yigloo, there was a 1 for 1 promotion. so 2 ice cream were shared amongst us. but i still felt a little shy because it was so rare for people to treat me to ice cream. especially when rachel gave me an almost untouched ice cream to taste.
we then took the sentosa express to sentosa. woohoo!
i was the only one in the group wearing jeans.
we took a bus to palawan beach because we decided it was perfect since it wasn't as packed as siloso or tanjong beach. i changed into short pants once we got there. zw changed into the even shorter sec 1 pe shorts. we all made fun of his ''slender, flawless legs'' lmao. zw, your legs are very fair coloured, i didn't want to say white, white is reserved for Benny.
we posed countless times to take pics, mainly funny and candid ones. played in the sand, with seawater along the coastline, played games on the sand, scaring rachel with seaweeds...etc. time past by in a breeze, or should i say sea breeze.
michelle made up a song and sang in a weird voice that i act cute but i don't act cute and i look cute but i don't look cute, which doesn't make sense at all. i don't even know what is ''act cute''.
the sea breeze was so comforting when it caressed the skin gently. as if being lulled to sleep under a spell, we lay down on a mat and stared into the sky and rested. while amanda and JL went off to get water and the 2 josephs.
when it was about 1hr before the year ended, amanda and JL arrived with the 2 josephs, which was quite late.
we lit the sparklers at 11.50pm and played with it. i accidentally burned my hand after picking up a freshly burnt sparkler. there's still a burning white streak of blister on my hand which hurts but may probably heal after 2 days. it made me a little moody though. because it hurt.
then as the new year approached, the lit sparklers were thrown high and into the sea as they were nearing the end of their brilliantly burning lifespans although i didn't do it because it was in a way, pollution to the sea.
then when countdown was over, everyone went into crazy mode and random bypassers will suddenly be so friendly and wish everyone a happy new year. i heard well wishes over and over again as if they were echoes from a single well wish.
then i noticed my plaster had torn off while playing in the sand.
it was 1+ when we boarded the train to Punggol. most of the group went to noel's house to spend the time till the sun rises.

that actually spells happy new year but the light is kind 0f dim on the sand.
people also lighted a hot air paper lantern, like those shown in the taiwan promotional advertisment on tv.

btw, thanks for sharing that plaster, i still have it wrapped around on my finger, u are so kind. im not bullied la, its just that im tired and have nothing to converse with the other guys, especially joseph tay and JL, they talk about dota all the way which i suck at. so i just didn't say much. but imainly talk to you guys.so caring of you, thanks anyway.
hope michelle and rachel and zw sleep well for the next few days because all of them have eye bags and black eye rings and looked tiredly pale. working is hard, it takes a toll on health, do rest more.
