怎么去拥有 一道彩虹
怎么去拥抱 一夏天的风
天上的星星 笑地上的人
总是不能懂 不能觉得足够

Miss Cheng sent an awesome note to her classes.
By the way, she's our GP tutor. Thought I'll like to share.

It goes:
Dear 1003, 1014 & 1017,
Hello dear padawans (oh google it if you don’t know what that is)!
It’s term 3 now! We’re ¾ into the battle; the final stand is near! (The final stand being your A levels, of course. What, did you think of Harry Potter?)
I hope that as much as you have studied, you have also rested during the June holidays.
This term, I kid you not, will be a tough one. (Does that sound like déjà vu?)
I can guarantee you that lessons will be tougher and less entertaining—if they even were, in the first place—but we must focus on the big picture, so when the going gets tough, the tough...keep going. And sometimes they eat chocolate to de-stress.
Here’s a quote for you:
No longer forward nor behind
I look in hope and fear;
But grateful take the good I find,
The best of now and here.
--John G. Whittier
I hope that even though the journey may be difficult (5 hrs of sleep, anyone?) you won’t forget to live the process. (I can hear you now: "What live the process, Ms Cheng?? I’m dying here!" )
But let me remind you that you only have once to live through each year, each day, each hour, and each minute. For example, because all good GP essays have examples, you will only ever live 2011, 9th July, 10.50pm once. It will never come back again. So I hope you make each moment—that one moment—count.
Once your NYJC journey has ended, you will never sit in NYJC with the exact combination of friends ever again. You will not sit, half-dozing, in a lecture with 300+ others, or your class, or even the clique that you hang out with, again. You will never enjoy your CCA the same way again. Things will never be the same as this very moment. Make it count.
You may have done badly for your mid years. Or you might have aced it. Either way, it’s no longer important: nothing can change it. The only thing you can change is the future, by doing something now. NOW! I don’t know when you will get your A level results in 2012, but the reality for that very day is yours to create now.
That’s also why you need to watch that Harry Potter show with your friends. Harry Potter’s Final Stand is Final. It will not be shown in the theatres again after its time has passed. And then when it is time to study, you study. Time and Tide waits for no NYJC student.
Most of all, be happy. You only have it once. ;)
See you soon!
Cheers,
Ms. Cheng

Your words have inspired me to work harder. Much needed encouragement is much needed, and received. Thank you!
