For the past 2-3 weeks, I've been faithfully mapling. Yes, Robin, I'll blame you for coaxing me to play MapleStory again.

I must admit, it was fun and addicting even if there was a 2 year gap of not playing it. It seems that after the BigBang patch, it is easier to level up. The new updates are refreshing, such as the dimensional gate and quite a lot more PQs. Oh, the bgm at the temple of time is so soothing~
I've decided to stop mapling years ago because it took a toll on my studies during Secondary school. If you belong to a family whose parents have high aspirations for their only son, then yes, you'll have to quit MapleStory. It did do me good because I was less distracted and therefore able to activate my mugger study mode.

My parents said: Delete MapleStory from the computer.
Me: Noooo... (deletes it anyway because i am a good boy or guai kia)
It felt as if a part of me was taken away because I have put so much time and effort to play this game.
Heck, I even deactivated my Facebook account just to study.
Just so that I can declare war on the EXAM. Well, both the O's and A's are over now, so I won't brood much over them.
Now, when I log into MapleStory, all my buddies are inactive except Robin and Ben. Oh, I joined a new guild too. YAAAA!

Oh, just a little history about why I created this blog.
I decided to create a personal blog after the birth of the blogging craze while I was in Secondary 2. I decided that it would be something fun to experiment with, being able to interact with friends and read their posts and updates as well as photos. Take note that this was before Facebook was introduced to the world, hence this was my only online social networking platform.
You can see the similarity between this and my Facebook page. My details, star sign and birth date are like my profile page. The list of friend blogs is like the current friend list on FB. (with the exception of the Don't Click button)
Also, most of the friend blogs are deleted or have become stale, as in, not updated for a long long time.
The blog was like an entire personal FB, with profile, posts, photo albums merged into one. I even had a chatbox once but removed it after it was filled with spam from bots!

The little me in Secondary 2 also heard about MapleStory from his friends.
So I decided to buy a little disc called Aqua Road for $2 from a friend of mine.
That was how I started mapling.
If you scroll back and look back at my blog post archives, you will see that the first few posts were about thanking my friends as well as rambling about my maplestory blogskin.
WHUT, MAPLESTORY BLOGSKIN? yep, you don't need to rub your eyes, I did in fact implement such a blogskin in the past, before I decided that the blog shouldn't be about maple anymore.
I've changed the skin several times before deciding on the current one of a cuboid little guy playing in the clouds.

Over the years, if you read the posts (if you will even bother to), you'll see that my character has changed somewhat from the little proud and childish boy to maybe a more humble and mature thinking boy (I will be a man once I ORD).

OHGAWDWHY.
I can still imagine the disgustingly proud me in my past posts. It was a miracle people still liked me in the past. WHY did i even post my grades in my posts. Wait...even my friends did it! Was this the norm last time?!
The posts just start getting more and more lengthier, unless I'm blogging during a busy period of my life, as well as becoming more insightful.
Unlike those about Maple -_-'' .

There was even a time where I kept using coloured fonts because I thought colours would bring more emphasis and attract more attention to the word as well as convey my mood. Bad idea, blog post looked like a kaleidoscope.
There was even a time where, no, many times where I tried to do some poetry. Please don't mention any of them. I can feel my face getting red this moment.

You can also read posts about my past hopes and dreams unfulfilled.

By Langston Hughes

What happens to a dream deferred?

Does it dry up
Like a raisin in the sun?

Or fester like a sore--
And then run?

Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over--
like a syrupy sweet?

Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.

Or does it explode?

I have fulfilled dreams and goals too, but that shall be another blog post.
For now, just enjoy my posts (it will be my greatest pleasure) and I promise, no childish posts on maplestory ever again.

I've finally bought an an ipod nano! After months of scrimping and saving :D
The new version has a wider screen and a flater body, smaller than the size of a cash card, 1.5x the thickness of a Singapore $1 coin.
I think it was worth it, the satisfaction it brings....eargasms..
The new earpieces from Apple looks cool, although my current Razer earpieces work better in blocking out surrounding noises and prevents other people around me from listening to my playlist.
the charger still has to be plugged into a usb port... hmmph!
My UIP has ended and this comes with several privileges:
no need to sing while marching
no need to greet sir, although it is still courteous to say Hi
access to the vending machines
able to use entertainment devices!
able to bring your phone around
book in by 2230 instead!
you can paste posters on the walls in your bunk
oh, joy. In little simple ways these bring much happiness to the monotonous army life.
I do miss the outside world while in camp, because I think of the things I could do:
Like attending university, having an actual life hanging out with friends.
On the other hand, I don't miss studying, my vocation requires me to do much reading up and memorising.
When I hangout with my friends, girls will talk about their uni life while guys will talk about army.
This is mainly what we talk about:

Boy: Have you heard?! Person A has gone to X unit! Tough life urh!
Girl: Hmm, what do they do there?
Boy: They have to dig trenches and go for field camps etc...
Girl: Sigh, I have an upcoming test next week! Its about proving this mathematical induction...
Boy: Oh, you seem to have a lot of tests..
Girl: Not really, just that its a busy week next week.
Boy: Well, we barely have enough time to sleep in my camp, after guard duty..
Girl: Have you seen Person B? She's so pretty now, I heard her boyfriend is from NUS.
Boy: I haven't seen her in a while..how is she?
Girl: She's in Biomed! I heard that its a tough course.
Boy: Wow, she's so smart, but she looks so nerdy..
Boy: There's this guy in camp who looks just like Chicken Little! He's studying servers.
Girl: Her boyfriend looks hot, wait, let me show you his profile pic (whips out blackberry)
Girl & Boy: (looks at blackberry screen)
Boy: I've finally attained my class 2b license! Wanna see?
Girl: I've gotten my driving license too!

And the conversation goes on and on about these 2 topics because it has become so important in our lives.
Then we'll get tired of the uni/army conversation.

and this is where my ipod nano comes into the conversation...

sigining off.
