Chapter Year 2013

A happy new year to all!

2012 has rocked my world; with me working at my part time job from Jan till March and my enlisting into NS caused an upheaval in my life.

My perspective of serving NS was the first big change, because i had a negative outlook towards it before enlistment.
It wasn't until I'd experienced thick and thin with my buddies did I finally broke through the looking glass that I've created and see a more meaningful purpose .
I love my family as well for taking such good care of me. For looking forward to seeing me on weekends.
Thank you Mum and Dad, who shower me with tender love and food. Thanks Sis, for bringing humour and joy to my life. Thanks Auntie Tree, for allowing me to rest during weekends because you tank most of the chores at home!
Despite NS occupying much of my time, my friends and buddies put in effort to organise meetups which I value a lot!
Thank you 1003 Backrow clique! NYODAC! BMTC buddies! High Schl Buddies! Unit bunk mates and platoon mates for strengthening the bonds between us!
My family and friends are the people who truly bring much meaning into my life and without them, 2012 would be too stagnant and frictional to get past.

It was unstable at the start of the year but things got smoother and I could say that 2012 slid past gently for me in the end.
For the new year, I would like to:
Do my best for the upcoming major exercise. To do a 1x good job and get over it!
Stay healthy, maintain a record of no medical leave and if I will have the unfortunate luck of falling sick, I will do my best to recover.
Be more thrifty, I've spent too much on excess food and nights-out and I will like to cut back.
Be less narrow minded, as well as embrace a more effortless way of living.
Try to study in NS or read more books, other than playing game consoles, because I will like my time to be spent on more productive stuff.
Maybe try to organise a meetup or two for my fellow buddies.
Also, finish reading my current read: The Tao of Pooh & The Te of Piglet, as well as apply the wisdom of the Tao into my life.
Paint my room someday and paste decals on the wall or even team up with my artistic lil' Sis to turn the walls into our canvas.

In this new year, (takes up a pencil in hand) I will write another story on the great exercise book called Experience. A scribble is a scribble, a smudge is a smudge. No matter how fancy or dull, intense or lull, euphoric or foul, the writer has already begun.
With much gusto, let the new year begin!
