BRANDON FLOWERS : THE CLOCK WAS TICKIN' The teacher had you write a letter, you were eight years old About the man that you'd become and the positions you'd hold But this was long before you and Jackie Geronimo met In the Prelude Park at midnight Now when it came to bells and whistles, Jackie did not lack And when she kissed you on the kisser, boy, you kissed her back Now you tell her that you love her and she cuts you slack When you drink with your buddies on the weekend
And the weeks fly by and the years roll on You spend your whole life dropping nickels in the bucket Wakin' up at dawn And while Jackie bestowed the joys of fingerlickin' The clock up on the wall was tickin'
You got yourself a job cleaning hospital floors But Jackie had a baby, then she had five more They'd pay you just enough to drag your ass to the store To buy bread, milk and Better Homes & Gardens Jackie flips the pages and she dreams little dreams A cottage in the country built with real wood beams There's a baby in the bedroom, he's starting to scream She holds him though he probably won't remember
And the weeks fly by and the years roll on Sometimes dreams are all you got to keep you going when the day gets long And you gave up so many just to make a livin' That clock up on the wall was tickin'
Now the kids are all grateful when they left the nest And Jackie wasn't perfect but she did her best You cease the opportunity to get you some rest But you can't sleep on account of screaming grandkids
The golden years are meant to leave a gleam in your eye You're starting to discover it's a great big lie They work you like a dog til you quit or you die But you can't quit cause Jackie needs the benefits
And the weeks fly by and the years roll on They say patience is a virtue but the doctor says she don't have long You stood up and tried your damndest not to listen But that clock up on the wall was tickin'
When they told you to clear the room, that's when it hit you You watched as the caravan took your sweetheart away The arguments and fights and money troubles seem so worthless As the kids throw yellow roses on her grave
And the weeks fly by and the years roll on The house is quiet now and everything inside it seems to know she's gone There's a picture of you both sixteen years old just kissing And that clock up on the wall was tickin'
You always thought she had a chance and it was somewhere hidden Now you've come to the conclusion that she never did Not a chance, that is

I've seen plenty of videos on Youtube ranking music; like "Top 10 chart topppers" or "Best 5 anime openings of 2013".
Well, I would like to create one today too. It's called the TOP 10 HIGHLIGHTS OF YA's ACTIVITIES THIS WEEK. Rather long title huh?
Lets rename that : YA'S TOP 10 THIS WEEK
I'd figure it will be about the best and most significant activity I've ever done this week, not counting what i'm doing now which is typing this post. And because i'm bored :) I could be playing dota, but its close to dinner time with about 15 minutes to spare, not enough time for a game, hence I blog.
YA'S TOP 10 THIS WEEK: (not arranged according to ranking)
1. I've compiled a playlist of SCANDAL songs and uploaded it to my ipod. Not only does this make finding their songs on my ipod easier, its also easier for me to add their album art. My fellow storeman and platoon mate Ben is also crazy over them, so this will make him really really happy and cheerful. We will then listen to the songs while we spend the whole day in stores doing stock-taking.
2. I went for an interview last Saturday in SUTD. It was a casual sort of interview. CASUAL DOES NOT EQUAL TO RELAXED. I was interviewed by 2 engineers, head of their own respective pillars. It started off with my own self introduction, with them being interested in my past science projects. Then they asked me to solve a math question on the whiteboard. Wha..what? My brain twist itself into a knot as I tackled the relatively simple math question. Draw the graph of y=xsinx. Yes, its that simple. Took a lot of prompting by them but i solved it in the end. Then comes a 2 part brain teaser about burning a string to measure time. I solved the first part, but dragged on with the 2nd. The question was quite interesting! It ended well, I gave my best and I hope for the best.
3. I've checked over 200 past T-loans (loans which record what items have been borrowed from our store). Tedious and boring. Especially if others are having fun while you're doing work. Enough said.
4. Went to eat at Manhattan Fish Market this weekend at their City Square mall outlet. There was a 1 for 1 fish and chips coupon so I went there with my parents. Their fried dory fillet was good, maybe a little too moist inside but still acceptable. Their chips however, was soggy and flat tasting. Their pricing was cheaper than Fish n Co's Fish n Chips, but at least Fish n Co's chips tastes better and are crisp hot. The squid rings and mussels were good, garlic rice fluffy and fragrant. Ended up being so full we had to ask to pack a set home.
5. Went to Daiso after that meal. Bought a screen protector for my ipod, because I predict plenty of people browsing through my newly created playlist. Also bought floor wipers, a magnetic item holder for my metal cabinet, an sponge supposedly able to remove tough stains and a deodorizer/dehumidifier that can absorb 800ml of musty closet air.
6. My friends introduced me to oldie songs featured in Bioshock and Fallout, I've never played Bioshock or Fallout before and would like to someday. The songs are beautiful!
7. Juiced fruits today to obtain fruit juice. I realize that my fruit intake in camp is quite low, maybe 1 fruit in 5 days. Fruits are an important source of vitamins and fibre. My camp mostly offers oranges when fruits are offered or gives none at all. Maybe I should eat more oranges, but they are a hassle to peel during my short meal time.
8. Spent less time playing computer games and more time sleeping during weekends. Sleep is important :)
9. Dug out my remaining GP revision stash and gave it to my sister for revision. I think Miss Cheng will be pleased, knowing that her notes are passed down like tomes of wisom or family heirlooms. My sis even says that they are more interesting than newspapers ;)
10. My facial bristles grows faster, I shaved my facial hair 4 times last week so far.
signing off.

4) A joy shared is a joy made double, just like breaking this cookie.
5) The wise are not always learned and the learned are not always wise.
