I'm brewing a mug of lovely orange jasmine tea while i'm typing. Drinking tea is so relaxing don't you think?
I'm on leave today, as well as tomorrow, so i'm just resting at home and taking a break from life in an army camp.

Doing server work means racking the server up too which is no mean feat. It involves carrying equipment that weigh up to 50kg. The equipment are expensive, so great pains are taken to transport it. It requires a lot of manpower to rack up any part of the server. I'm just glad its the leave clearing period.
(takes sip from mug, swallows tea, hints of citrus and jasmine in aftertaste)

I also took part in my division's 16km Tiger Trail open run last week. It was a intense 16km trail through Jurong, Pasir Lebar camp and SAFTI. We ran on the roads but some sections of the trail were off-road, where the ground was uneven, sprinkled with chipped concrete, gravel and sand and leaves. Heck, even some of the roads were worn out. The steep gradient of many paths made for perfect energy sapping climbs. (sips tea) But the rush down the paths was exhilarating. It was like a tour of the 3 camps which gave me plenty of scenery to see and distract myself from my fatigue.
Many units from 3rd Div took part, including many from Artillery and Infantry, men that have been trained to be fit for strenuous activity. I'm proud to say that 3 people in my signals unit made it into the top 10! ( I was one of them! I got 6TH PLACE :D )
I tried my best and fought fatigue and abdominal cramps. I even vomited water somewhere in the 9km mark because I drank too much liquids on the way. The feeling is horrible, believe me! I slowly jogged on after puking onto some poor plant by the road. But I'm proud of myself for going this far. (mmm... tea!)
I went up to the podium when my name was read out and shook my Div Commander's hand which is quite an honor for me and he presented me with a medallion. My unit cheered and clapped for me and my friends went crazy! haha! Thanks for the support guys, you are the reason I pushed on.
Later, CO came to congratulate me. (he gave me an off day! yay!)
(light fragrance lingers behind my tongue)

I'm getting myself pumped up for this Friday's battalion 12km run at East Coast Park, then SAFRA Bay run the week after.

Studying Final Theory guide today, I'll be starting my first ever practical driving session tomorrow. Hope the instructor is friendly. What am I saying, silly me. Instructors are always friendly! Please be gentle with me. Hope to get a good feel of sitting in the driver's seat too. I'll have to remember that go-karts and cars are actually quite different. So no more speeding and sharp brakes!

(oh! I finished my tea)

I think self reflection from time to time is a good thing. It allows me to set goals, make adjustments to my goals, come up with new ideas and set my creative juices flowing.
Too much self reflection however, makes one become too self conscious, too wary of one's actions and makes the mind work like a busy traffic intersection with broken traffic lights at rush hour with a walrus as a traffic warden.
haha walrus...

So here I am, doing part of my weekly reflection. I don't type or pen down a majority of my thoughts, so I often tend to forget what goals I've set and sometimes wobble off the intended path to my goal. Important goals however, I make sure to record.

Things accomplished:
Passed BTT
Finished my marshalling duties for NDP
Completely reorganised my clothes cupboard (colour sorted and bottom/top wear sorted)
Completed a 16km run (my current longest distance run yet)

Current goals:
To pass FTT
To take driving lessons next month
To pass driving test
To create a photo log of store items (which i put off for so long)
To study my sciences (so that my brain doesn't rot from the mundane camp life)
To take SATs (which my parents keep telling me to do so)
To set aside $80 for items that I wish to buy for myself
To get a part-time job after I ORD

Goals that can never be accomplished:
The endless store work that can only end when I ORD. Even then, I'm afraid people will still call me to lend equipment.

These are all I have for now. I won't go any further or else I'll be thinking about how much I'll save for a car and such.
